Option 1: unlimited monthly pass
Option 2: punch card of 7 sessions (valid for 4 months)
Art Association membership is required
Open studio times vary, check for times at front door of the Ceramics Studio or front desk of the Art Association. Both options cost $100 and include one 25-pound bag of clay, firing and glazing fees. Additional clay may be purchased for $16 per bag. Recycled clay may be purchased for $8 a 25-pound bag. No instruction is included with open studio access.

This course is designed for artists who desire to deepen their approach to clay or explore new directions. Students who have no experience with clay or art at all will find no prior experience is necessary to discover the joys of one’s own creative process. Explore surface treatments from objects found in nature. Project ideas and instruction will be constant for those preferring direction. Adventuresome newcomers and experienced artists will receive coaching and support for their personal projects of choice.

In this class the student will learn how to sculpt the human head using the malleable properties of clay. We will study general human proportions and ourselves in order to arrive at an accurate depiction of the model, self or other. The second half of the class will introduce clay relief and using plaster. A wall-mounted sculpture will be the result. Materials costs included in the price of the class. |
