Your class fee provides firing, glazing and open studio in the duration of the class. Additional clay $10 to $18 per bag.
Each session Tenley will teach throwing on potter’s wheel by demonstration and showing examples of pottery. Each week will address specific topics. Students may “jump into” any class but will have to have had a session of centering under their belt. Take one class or all, PLEASE NOTE, sessions are sequential. First time potters MUST attend the first class.
February 20: Introductions, Studio Orientation, Getting Started, Wedging, Centering
February 27: Centering Refresher, Cylinders & Bowls, Trimming
March 6: Cylinder & Bowl Refresher, Trimming Refresher, Handles
March 13: Work on Problem Areas with Wheel, Glazing, Decorating
March 20: Glazing, Work on Problem Areas with Wheel, finishing up work, Party w/potluck & BYOB!
Tenley Thompson is a ceramic, textile and photographic artist and the Owner of Jumping Jackalope Studios based in Jackson Wyoming. Her work is available in retail stores and gallery's throughout the mountain west. Tenley's work focuses on the wonders of the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem and her background as a wildlife biologist inspires her depictions of the wildlife and landscapes of our home. Tenley strongly believes that anyone, regardless of experience or ability can create amazing art.
