Low Fired Techniques: Special Effects
4 week class. One clay class taken previously.

This fast and furious class takes you into the world of mysterious atmospheric effects. Learn to prepare your leather hard creations in order to get the most out of Raku, Horsehair, Feather, and the Obvara, low fire techniques. Each process gives its own unique effect to the surface of the pottery.
Your class fee provides one bag of clay, firing, glazing and open studio in the duration of the class.
Tenley Thompson is a ceramic and textile artist, photographer and owner of Jumping Jackalope Studios. She teaches throwing, handbuilding and photography classes at the Art Association. Tenley’s work focuses on the wonders of the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem and its inhabitants. Her background as a wildlife biologist inspires her depictions of the wildlife and landscapes of our valley.
Tenley loves to bring new artists into the ceramics studio and feels strongly that anyone can learn to throw and handbuild in clay. It’s an ideal art form for everyone to learn and you can use the results in your own kitchen and home.Tenley's website
