BEGINNING/INTERMEDIATE LITHOGRAPHY

Course Description

A fun, six week class exploring all aspects of lithography, the most widely used printing process in the world today. Some topics include preparation of a printing matrix; drawing using dry, wet, and transfer mediums; aluminum and paper plate surfaces; and the initial etch. and editioning of print. The class addresses various drawing materials, techniques for etching, proofing and editioning, and includes additional historical information and examples. Beginning and intermediate levels.

Instructor

Rachel's energy and enthusiasm has been a big part of the Artlab's success. Her teaching style is direct and informative, blending a wide range of technical knowledge while encouraging students to discover new, experimental methods for making art. Originally from New Mexico, she received her BFA in Printmaking from the University of Oklahoma and specializes in screenprinting, lithography, relief, collagraph, and monotype/monoprinting.
