DIS•LOCATION Photographs By Michael Sherwin
Artspace Loft: May 18 - July 21, 2005

Michael Sherwin finds unusual visual “systems” in nature and life, from the waters of the ocean to the streets beneath our feet. In dis•location, he discovers the hieroglyphic nature of neon construction markings on the streets of Oregon while experimenting with a toy camera. The markings float above the surface of his long, panoramic pieces, seeming to reveal a mysterious, cryptic message.
