Artists participating in demo:
Artwork from the Teton Plein Air Painters and other Art Association plein air painters is showcased. This group of artists began meeting informally in 2012 and grew to a mailing list of over 170 artists by 2017. The Art Association began managing the communication for the Plein Air Painters at that time, but the organization is still mainly done by volunteers. The group meets weekly to paint at various locations around Teton County, sometimes even venturing as far as Teton County, Idaho and Dubois, WY. The group consists of a wide variety of experience levels, from beginner to professional - all sharing a singular love of painting landscapes on location outdoors. Participating artists include long-time local residents, part time valley residents, and visitors. The exhibit will showcase both plein air (outdoor) studies and studio works created as a result of their plein air experience. The Teton Plein Air Painters Exhibition will feature work from about 1/4 of the current membership, and each artist will display up to five paintings, with the majority of pieces available for purchase.
