Drawing, Painting & Printmaking Studio
3-week class. Prior printmaking experience not necessary, those with printmaking experience will be pushed into unfamiliar territory. Each person will be supplied with one Solarplate, printing ink, a limited amount of paper, and other basic supplies.
Using environmentally safe techniques and materials with a UV exposure unit and water, create a Solarplate etching without the traditional toxic acids, solvents and grounds. Learn how to process, develop, ink, and print the plate. Learn to create 6”x8” intaglio or relief prints from preparatory drawings, B+W photographic transparencies or scanned objects (created prior to class).

From the foothills of South Carolina, Brittany received her BA in Studio Art with a concentration in printmaking and a minor in Arts Management from the College of Charleston. Upon graduation, she took a printmaking residency at the Vermont Studio Center and has interned with master printer and originator of the printmaking technique called Solarplate, Dan Welden. In 2015, Brittany moved to Jackson for opportunities to apply her passion in fine arts and relish the massive outdoor lifestyle Jackson has to offer.
