Dan Welden

Drawing, Painting & Printmaking Studio

Join master printmaker Dan Welden for a weekend exploration of Solarplate, the safer alternative high-quality printmaking process that uses sunlight and water instead of toxic chemicals. While mark making on an 8 x 10 surface, you have the potential of developing a series of related color impressions.

This journey guides you to unchartered areas of your artistic self and takes you through creativity in a unique way. This weekend workshop is designed to encourage spontaneity and fluidity.

Dan Welden is a master printmaker, painter, educator, and author. He has been making prints and works on paper for over 50 years. Dan is an innovator at the forefront of the alternative health and safety oriented movement of printmaking, and the originator of a technique called Solarplate. His work has been shown in over 80 international solo exhibitions in museums, over 700 international group exhibitions, and his work can be found in numerous public and private collections throughout the country.

Artist Talk Thursday, September 14 from 12 - 1pm in Art Association Gallery.
