Art in the Time of Covid-19

Aug 20 | THU | 5:00PM - 7:00PM

Location

Art Association of Jackson Hole Gallery

Nearly 50 artists from the western Wyoming and eastern Idaho region submitted work done during the pandemic.  Artists also provided brief statements about the ways in which quarantine and social isolation has affected their work, their creative process, and/or them personally.  The statements reflect a variety of experiences, from artists who found creativity at a standstill to artists who took the opportunity to experiment in new mediums or styles to artists who used their regular practice to help them escape from the negative news cycle. The result is a diverse exhibition of paintings, prints, digital art, glass, ceramics, sculpture, and more.  Most of the work is available for purchase. In the Center for the Arts Theater Gallery, the work of Mona Monroe is exhibited, and guests are invited to explore her work after viewing the Art in the Time of Covid-19 exhibit. Refreshments will be served.

The reception will take place outside the gallery doors in the Glenwood St parking lot, and visitors are encouraged to bring their own drinks and snacks. Masks are required, and a limited number of people will be allowed in the gallery at a time. There will be a "Maitre D" at the gallery doors taking names in order to monitor numbers.
