Why Volunteer with the Art Association?
Art Association volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization’s efforts to provide the community with experiences enriched with art. We could not do what we do without incredible year round volunteer support. From staffing summer Art Fairs to supporting our Education team, we have a need that fits your personality, interests, abilities, and schedule.
Current Volunteer Opportunities
Youth Education:
- Volunteer Teaching Assistant: Support Youth After School Classes any day between Monday-Thursday from 3pm-5pm
- Youth Education Support: Flexible time between Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm. Create project samples for youth classes and support as needed for Education Team

- Pumpkins on Fire, October 10
- Holiday Bazaar, December 4-5
Event volunteer shifts range from taking admission at entrance booths, helping with heavy lifting during setup/teardown and boothsitting for artists in addition to a range of duties as needed per event. Shifts are typically 3-4 hours.

Adult Volunteer Benefits
First 5 hours: $5 off in Art Supply Store (coupon) – One time use!
After 15 hours: FREE Individual Volunteer Membership, which includes 10% discount in the Art Supply Store, 10% discount on classes.
After 25 hours: Three Open Studio 1 Day Passes.
Youth Volunteer Benefits (under 18)
First 5 hours: $5 off in Art Supply Store (coupon) – One time use only!
After 15 hours: $30 Gift Card to Art Supply Store
After 25 hours: $50 class credit in Sawyer Account
Volunteer hours will reset to zero on the 1st of every year. Free memberships, class credits and studio passes are valid for one year from date given. Art Supply Store coupons are valid for three months from the date given.
**Note: The maximum amount of hours you are able to receive benefits is 25. If you accumulate more than 25 hours in a year, the additional hours will receive additional rewards.
Work Trade
What is Work Trade?
Volunteer in the Art Association Studios for 8 hours/month in return for Open Studio time. Work Trade is available in all six of our studios and duties are studio specific but include deep cleaning and tidying.
